Theologian's Notes

Keep in mind when reading the Bible, there are a few ways to gather your perspective.

One, you take it for literal terms. Two, mythologically. Three, metaphorically.

Empirical thinkers, can not relate to most of the Bible stories, due to their personal modern factual reasonings. Hence the rise of atheism and agnosticism.

Yet, the Bible is riddled with codifications. It takes a keen eye for exploration with the acknowledgement of your current understandings. Thus, shapes you and your continual development as you progress in reading spiritual texts.

Personally, I find the verses go in a merry go around fashion. Therefore, one requires to zoom out as one would do on a map. Therefore, allowing to look at the verses/stories as a complete picture.

Also note, that the Bible is riddled with so many stories, it can leer into contradiction. Yet again one must learn to develop discernment while acknowledging the deeper education that follows.
